Swimming Sports

On Friday the 15th Grey Main School had their Swimming sports. It went on all day.
The races I entered for was:
25m breaststroke
50m breaststroke

25m Backstroke
50m Backstroke

25m Freestyle
50m Freestyle

I was in the relay too in my team I had Rowan, Nikau, Zyah and myself. I came first in all my races but we came 3rd in the relay.That means I am going to Grey District and make my school proud!

Loud shirt day

What is loud shirt day?!

Loud shirt day is when you get to wear bright clothes to school.

So today we are wearing mufti because it is for everyone who is deaf and they use the money for the cochlear implant.

So we all hope that we have enough money to save him.

First week of PrEP

This week has been really busy because Grey Main School has had PrEP going on.Some people in The Mamaku Hub have chosen to go to Pohutukawa or go to Rata. I went to R1 where my sister is in that class we are making Tic Tac Toe,Photo holders and candle holders with cavemen around the sides. I have also made a PrEP Journal for me so I I can remember what I did.With the PrEP Journal we have to write what we have done. For example R1 were painting rocks for the photo  holders we painted them Blue,Purple,Red.Yellow and orange. The black ones are for the Tic Tac Toe game.

Marae trip

On Tuesday Mamaku 3 went to Arahura Marae.
We had to walk slowly into the Marae because it shows respect to the Ancestors that have passed away.
When we went inside the Wharenui we were singing a song to the people on the other side. We sang Te Aroha. After we had to Hongi which is a nose to nose kiss in Maori. We had to do a Karakia to show respect to the Maori people and bless god for this food.
We then went back to the Wharenui and we did our Mihi. Some of us had to do a Mihi.
After we went outside to get a photo. Matua T then talked about the carvings in the body of Tuhuru which is the name of the Marae. When you look up there is the Spine of Tuhuru and then there are the Ribs.After that we then came to say Goodbye and wish to come back.

Drawing reflection

When Mamaku 3 did this we got asked to do a drawing reflection in our writing books by reading a piece of writing and think what this picture is. This is the paragraph I choose to draw about: "She climbed down the steep stairs and silently approached the great Tower. The walls rose out of the sandy ground like a soldier standing to attention" I choose to do the middle paragraph because it looked like the most interesting paragraph.

Ivans Domain

Here is Ivans new domain it has:

Trees that are scented.

A  painted on river with rocks.

We dont know what the woody stuff is but the rest of my group had a vote 3 against 1.

Some blue clouds on the wall.

We are not yet finished but we are close.

Making Pastic

On the 2nd of June Mamaku 3 went to the Tech Center to make plastic.
Me and Taylor were in a group to do this experiment. If you want to do this experiment you will need
Measuring cups
Milk
White vinegar
Sieve
mixing bowl
Table spoon

1. Then what you want to do is add 1 cup of milk in the mixing bowl.

2.You then want to add 4 teaspoons of vinegar into the mixing bowl.

3. Once you have added those 2 ingredients to the mixing bowl you want to then mix them together.

4. Once you have done that you then want to tip all of what is in the bowl into the Sieve then let the milk run out of the plastic from the Sieve.

5. You then want to needed it in your hands and when you think your done you are done you want to put it onto a Napkin or paper towel. If you are doing this with your class it would be best if you put your name on it.
